The adapter connects a Canon EOS M series camera to a telescope with a 2-inch focuser. I employ it with my Orion Skyquest XT8 to photograph the Moon and terrestrial targets. This telescope lacks sufficient inward focus travel to accept a T-ring adapter for use with a DSLR, but EF-M has a short enough flange focal distance that makes it workable with it, thanks to a low-profile adapter like this one.
