EF and MFT rear lens cap with stenciled focal length
thingiverse
This rear lens cap is inspired by M600's modular lens cap for Nikon and Pentax (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:405518)\r\nIt's completely built from scratch specifically to fit EF (however, I may add some additional mounts in the future).\r\nNot only does it look great, it's also handy for finding the right lens a bit faster.\r\n\r\n\r\nIt's a simple two-part design\r\n1) an EF-inlay that screws onto the rear of the lens\r\n2) the outer shell with the focal length stenciled out\r\n\r\nAfter printing both, you just glue them together. You can print them in two different colors, I just painted the top of the inlay black before gluing them.\r\n\r\nAs I'm only interested in prime lenses, especially vintage ones, there's only a limited number of focal lengths available. I added a blank so you can make your own, though.\r\nThe font I used is called "PF Din Stencil W01 Bold", it is well readable and looks slick.\r\n\r\nLikely, your default print settings work well as they are. I was happy with 0.2mm layer height, but you can of course go finer if you like. Support can be helpful for the inlay.\r\n\r\nUPDATE\r\n- added an MFT inlay for use with Micro 4/3 lenses; note that I did this for focal reducers, not native MFT lenses as that would look super silly\r\n- added two focal reducer caps, for use with the Zhongyi Lens Turbo ii (0.75x) and Viltrox EF M2 (0.69x). Note that these factors are actual ones measured by me.\r\n- I tried making a Nikon cap, unfortunately this won't work as the cap would have to be deeper; this can't be adjusted anymore so no Nikon, sorry
