EF-1009 extractor fan inline mount
prusaprinters
Mount the EF-1009 fan inline, or at one end of the pipe. For inline mounting, remove the square cover, which leaves a cylindrical fan body. The EF-1009 has a fan body with diameter or 98.5 mm.There are three rings:Back end ring glued to the pipe, which serves to hold the back end stable.Inner ring which is glued to the fan body, with six circularly protruding keys. The outer ring which is glued to the pipe, with lengthwise slots to allow the keys to glide into an inner circular ring slot which allows the keys to rotate, thereby locking the fan in position. The models have small spokes across the diameter to hold the model better to the printing plate. Remove the spokes after printing. Support is required in the outer ring cutout. The design presented here fits into a PVC pipe with inner diameter of 106 mm (outer 110 mm).Glue the rings as described above. When mounting add a small blob of silicon between the fan and rings to dampen vibration and hold the rings so as not to rotate under vibration. The parametric cadquery design can be adjusted for different fan body diameters and pipe diameters.Printed in PETG, but any material should do.
