EE16 coil former 5x2 protoboard friendly
thingiverse
This is a coil former for EE16 ferrite cores. It features two rows of 5 pins which are placed on a 2.54 mm grid to allow this former to be used on protoboards. Its landing pattern is the 5 pins on one side and the 5 pins on the other side seperated by 5 rows of contacts (excluding the pin contacts). Its winding area is about 8 mm wide and 14 mm high. The center pillar is 5x5 mm. For pins you can use generic right angled pin headers from which you cut off the angled part. After printing, first make sure that the ferrite cores will fit together properly, then cut 10 pins off a right angled header. Insert the pins into a former and insert the former into a prototype pcb to make sure the pins are aligned properly. Then apply some glue to the core side of the pins.
