Educate to Eradicate (Mosquito Model)
grabcad
This 3D printed mosquito model serves as an educational tool for students to study malaria. The body, wings, and antennae are 3D-printed without a raft, while legs are made from filament. When printed at half scale, scrap material fills the nozzle. After removing support material, wings can be reshaped on a warm print bed, and legs bent by hand or heated with a lighter. The abdomen is hollow for advanced activities, such as filling it with oil or bacteria to kill mosquito larvae when released in standing water.
