Edouard Eugène Désiré Branly, born on October 23, 1844, and passing away on March 24, 1940, was a pioneering French inventor, physicist, and educator at the Institut Catholique de Paris. He is most famous for his groundbreaking work in wireless telegraphy and the creation of the Branly coherer around 1890. This stunning sculpture was crafted by Charles Marie Louis Joseph Sarrabezolles, better known as Carlo Sarrabezolles. The talented sculptor made a significant breakthrough in 1962 when he developed an innovative technique for direct carving into setting concrete. This revolutionary method allowed him to seamlessly integrate his work with architecture and secure numerous commissions.
