I employ a keyring ring on my coat zipper because it's easier to pull and virtually unbreakable. This results in a broader opening for it to pass through, which I also accomplished. Additionally, I widened (enlarged) the hole in the direction of the zipper teeth to make it flatter. For my coat, I utilized 110% scaling in width and the remainder at 100% using Cura 3.6. It took about 10 seconds of filing on the small triangle connecting the two main parts of the zipper (as the top of my zip is wider) and voila, it glides on from the top. Furthermore, I utilized the scraper from my printer to press the top zipper tooth into place. It requires being flattened slightly to fit and pressing with the scraper from the side of the zipper yields excellent results. A valuable tip for Cura users: scale your object before rotating it. If you don't scale first, then rotate, scaling in Z might be applied in Y instead. This could lead to unintended consequences. I've uploaded a .prt and .step file while I initially uploaded the SW CAD file so others can edit it; however, I remembered that not everyone has access to Solidworks.
