EdgeStar 48qt Refridgerator Hinge
thingiverse
I designed a beefier hinge for my well-loved camping refrigerator, a 48-quart Edgestar that has been by my side in remote places for years. The original hinge had broken under its weight, so I created a new one to match the task. I was also concerned about the strength of my ABS print compared to the original plastic. I chose .125 steel rod for the pin, easy to find at any hardware store. Although stainless is better because it doesn't rust, I didn't have any handy. If you want to work on the original design, visit this link: https://tinkercad.com/things/i2MMJ2U7Z9F Printer Settings: Printer: Qidi Tech Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 50% Notes: I printed this design using ABS for strength, but nylon or Delron would be better if your printer can handle it. You'll need some supports for the bottom notch, but I didn't need them for the hinge pin holes. For strength and to support drilling the hinge pin hole if necessary, I recommend 5 layers top, bottom, and outside.
