EDF Mod for the Gasb3
thingiverse
I made significant upgrades to the nacelle, which are labeled as front, rear, and mirrored nacelles. These upgrades will require two tip-up files. The edfs have been moved forward enough that I can now use a 2200 4s battery pack with excellent balance. You can see it in action here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TPw8wn3mSPg. Although I had to adjust the throws on all three planes, the model still shows promise of flight with the nacelles and ample power. The edf version starts at 47 seconds. I used a Gasb_three as my base model and modified it to use two 50mm 11-blade edfs from Powerfun edf. I bored out the tail of the fuse to accept a model rocket motor, and added the edf housing to the verticals. Although I haven't flown it yet, I will add video once I do. This is just an overview of the modified parts; you'll need to download Carletto73's original file from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3605665, then print these mods to replace some stock pieces. You'll also need a small spring to preload the new canopy latch. Follow Carletto73's instruction booklet for any additional materials. I labeled the modded parts with the blue angels scheme colors in the pictures. I printed these as three top layers, three bottom layers, and one perimeter.
