Eddie Bauer Luggage Handle Repair
thingiverse
My coworker snagged a great set of luggage at a steal due to a busted handle. Before he started hunting for a replacement, he asked me if I could whip up a new one on the printer. We haven't fully assembled it yet, but so far, the parts fit together like a charm and move with ease when partially put together. Based on our test assembly, I tweaked the OpenSCAD design to make it even better. The pictures show the first prototype in white, the original broken handle, and the latest version. 7/13/16 Update: The fully assembled handle is working beautifully! Hopefully, this helps someone else out there with a similar problem find these files! 7/27/17 Update: Since I got a few requests for prints, I figured why not? I made it customizable, so you can now add your name to your luggage handle – even if it's not broken. Print Settings: Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Prusa i3 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.3mm Infill: 50% Notes: I printed it with 6 perimeters, 5 solid top layers, and 5 solid bottom layers for added strength. The final weight came out to about 20g.
