ED-209 Improved Free 3D print model

I designed three new Ed 209 models by taking inspiration from existing sketches, but none of them had an appealing torso or canopy design, so I decided to create my own unique versions. You might notice similarities with another user's model on the platform - both our Ed 209 models came from the same sketchup warehouse source and feature comparable guns and leg flares. To set the record straight, let's talk about respecting intellectual property. While some people may think that remixing or redistributing someone else's work without permission doesn't hurt anyone directly, it actually affects multiple stakeholders - either the original author or the platform hosting the content for free. My Thingiverse model was created with a couple of motivations in mind. First and foremost, Robocop is one of my all-time favorite movies - the original 1987 film is truly iconic. Now, I didn't particularly enjoy the remake, but I adore the classic version's themes and characters. One of the main reasons I decided to create this model was that I spotted a fellow Thingiverse user, ProCoPrint3D, ripping models from sketchup warehouse and selling them online - something that I believe is unjust. This particular Ed 209 model is available for free on sketchup if you know where to look - all you need to do is export the OBJ file! Secondly, after trying various prints of the original Ed 209 models, I discovered that each one suffers from poor canopy resolution. The resulting print requires an extensive sanding process just to achieve a smooth finish. This design addresses those issues, offering a refined solution. Lastly, while printing ED209 in a single piece might seem straightforward, it can be incredibly challenging - especially when trying to remove support materials, which can take a lot of time and effort. My version seeks to make this entire process easier.
