Culture Nazca, southern coast of Peru. A deep quadrangular bowl with slightly sloping walls. Its angles are rounded and the upper edges are slightly convex. The red-brown terra cotta bears a geometric painting on the outer walls: on the long sides, a white cream grid pattern within a black rectangular frame bordered in white-cream, placed on the rim and lower edge of the bowl; on the short sides, the two vertical black bands of this frame enclose a vertical white-cream band bordered in black and equal width.
