Economical Drawers
cults3d
Thanks for the blog post Adafruit! I recently came across several small parts drawers on Thingiverse that caught my eye, and I noticed most of them used an excessive amount of filament. Determined to create a cost-effective version that not only looked amazing but was also easy to print, I set out to design something truly special. The outcome is the Economical Shelf: a sleek and modern storage solution that weighs in at just 150 grams, including supports and raft. In comparison, the original shelf before applying the voronoi pattern weighed a whopping 217 grams without any supports or raft. By making these simple modifications, I was able to save an impressive 67 grams of filament! This may not seem like a lot, but when you're working with small objects that require precise control over their weight and balance, every gram counts. One reason I chose to include a raft in my design is because my print bed has a history of struggling to stick larger objects firmly to the surface. By adding this extra layer, I was able to ensure that my Economical Shelf would print beautifully without any issues or complications.
