Eclipse Pinhole Plates (Improved)
prusaprinters
These thin plates can be used to project images of the moon obscuring the sun during an eclipse. The patterns can be used to explore the effects of pinhole size and pinhole shape on the projected image. Important: The distance of closest approach between the features sets the maximum distance between the plate and the projected image. To project images over a 1 meter distance, the minimum filled distance between two objects must be ≥ 10 mm. Otherwise, the images may overlap. The patterns in the Large Plates for 1 meter Projection folder are best suited to long distance viewing. I recommend using these patterns. The Eclipse Fibonacci plate has constant size circles in a Fibonacci pattern. The other plates have holes of varying sizes. All of the holes in the Eclipse Spiral pattern are circular. The holes in the Eclipse Circle to Square and Eclipse Circle to Triangle have holes of varying shapes.
