Ecksbot Top Rail Cover

Ecksbot Top Rail Cover

A largely Ecksbot-based setup on a plywood base features an overhead spool holder; the filament, however, rubs against the upper rail during printing, causing scuffing and plastic dust. To resolve this issue, I added a corrugated wire loom to the threaded rod, yet it makes a skipping/clicking sound while printing. Alternatively, one could use tape or hose, but an improved solution is in store; print the 7.8mm inner diameter, 229mm length design as-is or modify the OpenSCAD .scad file. Ensure your heatbed is set to high and press the first layer firmly for best results, as this part tends to curl.
