EchoDot AA-Batteriecase
thingiverse
This is an Amazon Echocase with built-in battery holder for 4 AA batteries. I opted to build my own solution because commercial options use Li-batteries, which limit the ability to swap out old batteries for new ones. Since I use the echodot as a kind of internet radio when sitting outside, I didn't want any cables getting in the way. With four eneloop batteries, this echodot will work for about 5 hours at moderate listening volume. This project combines a remix of the battery holder from sleejmanj with the case design from mariozwiers. Special thanks to bozh for creating such excellent work! To build this project, you'll need some additional parts: 1. A switch (any type will do; I used one I had lying around). 2. 4 battery contacts (available on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00O9XV66Q/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). 3. A small step-up USB converter (500mA is sufficient); find it here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0762GR627/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. 4. 1 meter of cable and a soldering iron. 5. 4 screws
