Stand your Echo Dot (2nd Gen) upright or hang it from a cabinet door securely. The Echo Dot can easily clip into this stand, which has a hollow back for routing cables. To ensure a secure fit after snapping in the Dot, use a hex driver as a poker. Once assembled, the stand is quite stable. If you want to hang the Dot from a shelf or cabinet door, you'll need the second part of the setup. Measure your door carefully and use Customizer to create a hanger that fits perfectly. A 21.5 mm hook is provided as an example, which works well with my cabinet and probably matches many contractor-grade cabinets sold in the U.S. To assemble the hanger, insert one M3 square nut into each trap on the sides of the stand's cable channel. Then secure the hook to the stand using two M3x16 Cap screws. The hook has a channel that aligns with the cable routing on the stand, ensuring the cable isn't pinched when the cabinet is closed. When printing the Echo Dot, be cautious of stringing on the speaker grill. Avoid using a heat gun to clean it as the plastic is thin and will warp easily. Instead, use an X-Acto or leave the stringing alone for a clean look.
