Echo dot && plus battery +backup
thingiverse
Sometimes one just wants to travel with some gadgets to make life easier. I came up with this battery backup to unplug my echo on the go, and it serves both the Echo Plus and Echo Dot, as well as other 5V@2A USB-hungry devices. For sure, I could plug in a 12V≈15V (15W) power source into this setup and turn it into an uninterrupted power source for any USB gadget – iPhones, iPads, Androids, etc. But the goal here is to let my Echo travel without wires around home or outdoor spots. I 3D printed the .stl file on my E3D BigBox using Proto-Pasta HTPLA Carbon Fiber Original, but others could do it with ABS too. My printing settings in Simplify 3D are: √ Fifteen percent infill √ A 0.2mm high resolution √ Two-by-two-by-two top, bottom, and outline layers √ Fast honeycomb/concentric interior fill/outline overlap/infill extrusion width at fifteen/35/100% √ No support needed √ An extruder temperature of 217 degrees Celsius and a bed temperature of sixty degrees Celsius √ A speed of two thousand two hundred millimeters per minute, with a solid infill speed of one hundred percent Some information is available on the .pdf + BOM at: √ goo.gl/vquLDm √ goo.gl/M6EE8P √ goo.gl/ByJYVs √ goo.gl/cUUKS1 √ goo.gl/xG6fDa You can watch a video of this project in action here: https://youtu.be/KtE0YGA0yI4
