Echo Dot Mount in wall
thingiverse
Thing has a custom compartment for the speaker to sit within and holes at the bottom that enable sound to continue emanating from the speakers. A mounting ring will cover the exposed hole to give the setup a sleek, finished appearance. I'll post some photos once it's fully installed. Many thanks to thenewguy6 and Geeksquad66 for providing the source files. I've uploaded another STL with vent holes as suggested in the comments. Let me know what you think - is this one better than the previous version? After installation, I had to use a 90-degree micro USB connector and make a small notch in the mount to fit into the hole in the ceiling. A 4 3/8" hole saw worked perfectly for this task. I'll attempt to upload an updated file with the notch already cut out of the mount for easy USB installation.
