Echo Auto suction cup mount
thingiverse
This is my first attempt at designing anything in Tinkercad and working with 3D measurements, having dabbled in Blender years ago. It's purely functional with almost no aesthetic appeal. This design is based on https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3748289. I wanted to mount my Echo Auto to the window with suction cups near my rearview mirror mainly to eliminate any wires running across my dashboard console. I had to modify the inserts for the magnets because the two magnets from the sides weren't strong enough to hold the Echo. I simply opened up a large square to fit four 12mm x 2mm magnets. I inserted the magnets during printing, although you might be able to get all four in from the sides after printing is complete. The magnets do move around a bit if the Echo isn't mounted properly. A little glue into the openings would likely solve this issue if it bothers you. The suction cups for this design can be found at https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B073S5TX8W, and the magnets are available at https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B076NVJ82G. I've included the .obj file from Tinkercad for anyone who wants to work with it. Feel free to improve upon this design! Update 9/17/19: I took some more time to clean up the design a bit. I made inserts for four magnets so you don't need to insert them during printing time. Again, you might want to glue the magnets in place, although when they're all inserted, they seem to hold each other securely in position. I also rounded the edges a bit better, as I'm still learning. Both the .obj and .stl v1.2 files have been added. I think this design needs to be printed in PETG since I notice that one currently mounted on my car windshield is sagging a bit due to sun exposure.
