Echo Auto Mount
thingiverse
This mount is designed to enable you to attach an Echo Auto to any flat surface in your car. It uses double-sided tape to secure the mount and holds the Echo Auto at a slight angle above the surface. The mount is particularly useful in cars that lack a traditional air vent compatible with the included Echo Auto mount. For instance, on a Tesla Model 3 this allows the Echo auto to be mounted on the center console. Design objectives include: - Developing an effective minimal design capable of securely holding an Echo Auto on a flat surface. - Employing magnetic mounts so the Echo can be easily removed and will detach smoothly if bumped. - Mounting the Echo at an angle, positioning microphones and lights for optimal effectiveness. - Designing with manufacturing in mind to enable standard FDM printer production. Components required for assembly: - 4 disk-shaped magnets, 1/4 inch (6.35 mm) in diameter by 1/8 inch (3.2 mm) in height -- Alternative magnet options can be accommodated by editing the OpenSCAD file. -- Suitable substitutes are available on Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N7GPLW3 - Double-sided tape for attaching the mount - Super glue The design is implemented using OpenScad, allowing modifications and remixes with ease. Parameters such as the mount angle or dimensions can be adjusted to suit individual needs. Additionally, users may find it more convenient to modify magnet mounting holes to accommodate existing components rather than sourcing matching magnets. Sharing useful remixes is encouraged. The mounting plate serves as a great starting point for new designs that may not meet specific requirements. The parts were printed on a Prusa Mk3s using press-fit assembly. In the event of fitting issues, OpenScad can be utilized to adjust corresponding overhang parameters.
