Echo/Alexa DOT Sound Enhancer - Wall Mount/Holder
thingiverse
This multi-purpose Mount/Stand for Amazon Dot 2 enhances audio output by redirecting sound away from the unit using its curved lower section. I tested it with my device and found that it works effectively. Although sound quality doesn't show significant improvement on hard surfaces, it prevents muffled sound when sitting on soft surfaces like fabric table covers. The Alexa Dot fits securely into the top, allowing for versatile mounting options. Space is left at the bottom for small rubber feet or screw holes to facilitate wall or desk mounting. I have one unit mounted near my spa over 5 feet away, enabling me to control lighting and music without worrying about water and electricity mixing. The Amazon Dot 1.0 has similar lateral dimensions as 2.0; thus, it can be used with this model as well. Using the former would result in side spikes not reaching the top of the unit completely, but there's no reason why it wouldn't work. Print Settings: Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator 2 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 100 Infill: 15% Notes: I printed one using 100-layer settings, but a 200-layer print would also look fine. A nice finish was my priority, and time wasn't an issue for the print. Design: This design was created using TinkerCad, which is similar to other designs out there. However, it was designed from scratch with features like screw holes, elliptical sound reflectors, feet placements, and an art-deco design in mind. It matches the new Echo DOT 2.0 dimensions precisely.
