On George Hart's website (http://www.georgehart.com/sculpture/echinodermania1.html), you can see his fascination with echinoderms, which inspired toroidal sculptures. These aren't exact models but a unique evolution in a parallel universe. Each piece has five twists and is made using selective laser sintering of nylon on an SLS machine before being dyed. It's recommended for makers with Thing-O-Matic; however, those with Up or Ultimaker machines are encouraged to give it a try.
