Eccentric quick-release fastener for scroll saw DS460

<p>I found releasing and fastening blades on my scroll saw very annoying, when using the original lock nut: Rotating the nut takes ages and when fastening the blade, you always have to find the right position to achieve the correct tension on the blade...</p><p>So I designed this eccentric fastener for my Proxxon DS460 sroll saw. Now releasing and fastening the blade takes just a blink of an eye:</p><figure class="table"><table><tbody><tr><td><figure class="image image-style-align-right image_resized" style="width:93%;"><img src="https://media.prusaprinters.org/media/prints/60391/rich_content/7f09c924-4462-4bb7-9f61-e5cb1dbf57e3/img1.jpg#%7B%22uuid%22%3A%225c04fb0d-32f9-4d6b-a858-d3bc8f5c780d%22%2C%22w%22%3A749%2C%22h%22%3A531%7D"></figure><p>&nbsp;</p></td><td><figure class="image image-style-align-left image_resized" style="width:98.3%;"><img src="https://media.prusaprinters.org/media/prints/60391/rich_content/bcd9d8fa-51b2-45cc-9d74-93385371b026/img2.jpg#%7B%22uuid%22%3A%22f30e3f4e-9df4-4e6c-b69c-fccd1a263c69%22%2C%22w%22%3A715%2C%22h%22%3A496%7D"></figure></td></tr></tbody></table></figure><p>Also, if you do not rotate the fastener, the tension when pushing down the lever is always the same. I am so happy with the result!</p><p>The lever should also work for any other scroll saw (and any other tool) that has a M6 thread at the fastener.</p><h3>Print Settings</h3><p>I recommend printing in PETG using 3 or more perimeters for increased strength. I did use “army green” filament to match the color of the DS460.</p><p>To achieve the best result, print the lever lying on its side and using a 0.3mm layer height. Although this means that you will need a local support between the "wings", this will result in a very nice surface you will enjoy to touch:</p><figure class="image"><img src="https://media.prusaprinters.org/media/prints/60391/rich_content/d93d70fe-ec74-4605-a768-c7a7005b4b23/slice_lever.png#%7B%22uuid%22%3A%22b5e7ae3b-ff07-4b8e-9a4d-e860a471ffd5%22%2C%22w%22%3A502%2C%22h%22%3A427%7D"></figure><p>The lock nut should be printed in 0.15mm layer height.</p><h3>Additional material required:</h3><ul><li>6.4 x 30mm washer</li><li>M6 x 30mm countersunk screw</li><li>2pcs M6 nut</li></ul><h3><strong>Design and Source Code</strong></h3><p>The fastener has been designed using OpenSCAD. I have provided the source code for download, so you can adjust the design to your needs.</p><h3><strong>Happy printing!</strong></h3><p>If you like this design, then <strong>please leave a like</strong> and also <strong>post a photo in the comments</strong>.
