EC5 End Cap

A protective cap for EC5 connectors on batteries keeps track of charged batteries while safeguarding against accidental shorts. Designing This Cap I employed Fusion360 to create this design from scratch. Initial steps involved drawing a sketch consisting of three lines and an arc, precisely aligned with the dimensions of the EC5 connector. Next, I added an offset line 2mm away from the connector, which served as the foundation for the surrounding ring. A further offset line was then introduced 4mm beyond the EC5 dimensions, forming the grip. To give shape to the inner and outer components, I extruded them upwards by 2mm, effectively creating a base and grip respectively. The middle surround was then elevated by 16.5mm for the connector and an additional 2mm to clear the base/grip. For easier fitting of the EC5 connector, I carefully chamfered the inner edges. Furthermore, I rounded off several external corners to enhance strength and user comfort.
