EC5 Connector to IEC Cutout Pico PSU 12v
thingiverse
This design allows for a straightforward conversion, removing the IEC connector from an AC input and replacing it with an adapter to accommodate a standard EC5 connector for hobby batteries. The process involves gluing the connector into the adapter as shown in the accompanying pictures. This results in a clean and reliable power supply setup for devices like Pico PSUs that can draw power from 12-volt sources such as Lead Acid batteries, 3s Lipo cells, or even an old 12v Dell PSU used for micro-itx builds. The original barrel connector included with the Pico PSUs is deemed unreliable due to its limited amperage rating of 5 amps and susceptibility to unplugging itself over time, a small size that leads to loose connections in the connector. This design provides a secure connection, eliminating the need for constant adjustments or reconnections.
