Some custom-designed parts for my trusty electric bike. My ride, a sturdy HASA comp3.0 mountain bike, is equipped with a robust magic-pie-2 motor. First up is a neat 3-piece junction box that snugly clamps around the handlebar neck. This makeshift solution isn't waterproof by any means, but it's a definite improvement over leaving wires flapping in the wind and rain. The neck itself boasts an angular design with "saga" etched into its surface, while its angled shape forms a precise 100-degree bend, accommodating tubes measuring approximately 35mm in outer diameter. Next on my list is a clever micro-switch mount to detect when the brake lever reaches home position. Initially, levers with built-in switches were provided with the motor; however, I needed to craft a unique solution since my bike features combined gear and brake levers. Hence, this custom-designed component came into being. Thing Three: A thoughtful mount for the cruise control switch - or rather, throttle lock, as Golden Motor refers to it. It differs significantly from its counterpart by not attempting to hold a fixed speed; instead, it temporarily locks in the current throttle setting. This setup allows users to adjust and maintain their preferred throttle position. The brakes are then employed to clear this locking function or a second button press, freeing the locked position. I had trouble mounting the original part due to its cumbersome design; my custom mount, however, has positioned the control switch in an incredibly convenient location.
