Ebike Charger Voltage Limiter
thingiverse
Many eBikes are charged to a maximum voltage of 42V with a 10S Li-Ion configuration, which can lead to accelerated cell aging at high charging states. To minimize this effect, it's reasonable to charge to lower voltages if the full range isn't needed. The device can accommodate two diodes in series connection, along with their heat sinks, to reduce the voltage of the charger. I've opted for 2 silicon diodes, which results in a voltage drop of 1.5V. My charger delivers 2.5A, causing a heat dissipation of slightly over 3W. It's essential to ensure that the heat sink is properly sized to maintain the temperature below 60°C.
