I power my backup system with a dedicated 12-volt battery pack that sits outside the unit. I've designed this custom enclosure specifically for mounting a combination voltmeter, ammeter, and power meter directly above it. By relocating the current shunt from inside the box to its new home, the space is now available for housing the external power source.
