Easy Xacto Hobby Knife Handle

Watch video for instructions. Note: Printing it upright might work a little better than laying it down like the file is set up. I couldn't get the screw-tightened designs from Thingiverse to print perfectly, so I came up with this design. Ξ A simple hobby blade (#11 Xacto) handle for printers that aren't quite calibrated yet. Ξ • The main idea is to use a scrap piece of filament, screw, nail, or whatever you want to hold the blade in place. The hole is perfect for my blades but if it doesn't work for yours, I've uploaded an extra file with no hole so you can measure and drill one yourself. I also uploaded a file of the cap with clearance over the hole in case you want to use a nail or something that's not perfectly flush with the handle. • This design works very well, and I use it every day in my line of work. Actually, this is the 17th design I tested before finding the 16th one to be the best. • The cap fits tightly on purpose, but if you think it's too tight, try increasing the cap size by 3% or something in your slicer program. This might just do the trick. • After getting the first blade in place, future changes will be a breeze. ***I am not responsible for any harm or damage caused by you to other people or things while using this handle. Be careful with blades at all times and don't take unnecessary risks.
