Easy Universal Z-Braces for CR-10 / S / S4 / S5
thingiverse
For a long time, I've been searching for z-braces for my CR-10 that are easy to print and require minimal material. I also wanted them to be simple to assemble and mount with parts found in every hardware store. Just the other day, William Weston showed me some he had put together, inspiring me to create my own. I then printed them, cut rods to length, and installed them. So far, it seems to work really well. These should also work perfectly fine on different sized CR-10s, and I plan on installing them on my S5 soon as well. If you try it on another size, please let me know what rod length you used. **Important:** If you're like me and use a capacitive probe for bed leveling, the maximum build height will be reduced to 380mm. I haven't tested this with a BLTouch, but it should not impact the build height, just as if you're using manual leveling. #####What you'll need to buy * 2x 60cm M10 threaded rods * 4x M4x10 screws * 2x M4x15 screws * 2x M5x12 screws * 4x M4 T-slot nuts * 8x M10 nuts * 2x M4 nuts #####Optional things * Cable sleeving * Shrink tubing #####Tools required You'll need a tap with M4/M5 pieces to tap holes in the printed parts. The same M5 piece will also be used to tap the holes in the aluminum extrusions on the bottom of the frame. Enjoy, and please use the make functionality to upload an image if you decide to use this mod on your printer. I hope you'll like this as much as I do.
