Easy TPU: Pet tent pole bungies - Stop losing tent pole parts
prusaprinters
I have a shade tent for my dog that I use in my boat. The poles for the tent tend to go “sproing" and the pieces fly out of the boat, never to be seen again and I have to get new poles. These little bungies made from TPU are the perfect thing. Slip them onto your 4mm tent poles and you won't ever have them fall apart or lose pieces again. The length allows for still assembling and disassembling the tent pole, and can be slid to lock the pole together for easy pop-up without the pole pieces falling apart.Printing is really easy - I used the Ninjaflex profile and printed in black Ninjaflex because that stuff is stretchy and tough. To get the bungie over the bulge where the two pieces fit together, I used a needlenose and stretched the opening until I could slip it onto the bulgy thing - and then it slides right over. Because it's TPU, it shrinks back to size and still grips the tent pole nicely. In the sliced file that I provided, I used sequential printing to reduce cross-piece stringing. It was pretty easy to set up sequential printing with a small profile like these have.
