Easy tap handle for kids, or E-Nable
thingiverse
So I'm training my kids to use the toilet and wash their hands after, but those pesky square handles require way more torque than their little arms and hands can handle. I didn't want to change the handle style as that would mean going through the wife, which would no doubt end up costing 10 grand deep into a bathroom renovation - no thanks! So I used Fusion 360 to recreate a rough replica of the original handle, then created this "torque arm" by cutting the handle out to create the negative inside, giving it a couple of chamfers and chucking it to the printer. The fit was a bit high and loose, so I heated it over the stove and pressed it onto the handle nice 'n deep so it engaged over the flares at the bottom - let it cool and it's been rock-solid for three months now. The arm is long enough that even my two-year-old can activate the tap. This could also be used by elderly people or those with disabilities/amputations for easy activation of the tap. I only did the cold tap for safety reasons, but you could easily print a second one for the hot tap too. The kids love it, and guests have commented on it too! It was printed in white PLA to match the rest of the bathroom.
