Easy print & glue - Sd.Kfz. 251 Ausf. A and Ausf. D
thingiverse
When I began printing vehicles, I frequently experienced frustration due to the subpar print quality and tedious cleaning process. To overcome these issues, I decided to break down the object into several distinct components. My primary focus was on achieving exceptional print quality while minimizing the need for support structures. Once printed, the individual parts had to be meticulously assembled using a strong adhesive. As I continued experimenting with this approach, I successfully printed and assembled several models. To make it easier for others to achieve similar results, I have made the print files available for all users who value quick and high-quality printing. I would like to extend my gratitude to the original designers of these models, whose contributions are invaluable to our community. My only role was to divide their designs into manageable parts – nothing more. This time, I chose to work on the Sd.Kfz.251 Ausf.A, carefully dissecting it into separate components. Using my FDM printer at a scale of 1/72, I successfully printed the model. The attached STL files are scaled to 1/100 for convenience. To ensure optimal results, users should print all parts with support structures in place, as the slicer software will automatically generate minimal supports in hidden areas. Photos of the completed model will be posted at a later time. *************************************************************** Update November 24, 2018 I revised file A (center hull). The new version, A-1-100-sdkfz251_ausf-a_center_hull_V2.stl, features a larger first layer area (seat backrest and wheel), resulting in improved print quality. *************************************************************** Update November 26, 2018 I updated file B (tracks). The revised version, B-1-100-sdkfz251_ausf-a_tracks_V2.stl, boasts an expanded first layer surface area, ensuring better adhesion to the printbed. *************************************************************** Update August 8, 2019 I added SdKfz 251 Ausf. D (files D to G) to the collection. The assembly process for these parts is identical to that of the Ausf. A model.
