Easy print & glue - Matilda II tank
thingiverse
When I started printing vehicles, I often got frustrated about the poor print quality and the tedious cleaning process. So I decided to break down the object into several parts. The focus is on achieving high-quality prints and minimizing support structures. After printing each part, they need to be assembled together. Meanwhile, I've printed and built some models using this method. I'm publishing the print files for anyone who wants quick and good print results. Let me thank the original designers of these models - they're crucial for our community. I simply divided their work into smaller pieces; nothing more. This time around, I worked on the A12 Matilda II tank with cast tracks and a CS turret. I took this object apart, breaking it down into several manageable parts. Next, I modified the turret to reduce its gun diameter. The model can be built with either an open or closed hatch. If you're having trouble printing the thin gun barrel on the modified turret, try using the original turret instead. The original file is included for your convenience. I printed this model with my FDM printer at a scale of 1/72. However, I've scaled up the attached STL-files to 1/100 for easier use. Only the turret required support during printing. Update June 20, 2018: After receiving a request from a community member, I added the STL-file for the turret hatches.
