Easy Print Chess Set

Easy Print Chess Set

thingiverse

This is an uncomplicated chess set to print. It's not showy or exceptionally original, but I specifically created it to be straightforward and swift to print. Every angle is 45 degrees or less, so no supports should be necessary (including on the knight). The models are a bit on the small size, feel free to enlarge them to your need. They should be detailed enough. I printed a whole color set in under three hours at 0.2mm. Print Settings Printer: CraftBot Plus Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 15 How I Designed This Design I'm learning SolidWorks for my new job as a CAD engineer for a plumbing replacement company, and once I got familiar with the revolve tool, my first thought was how easy it would be to design a chess set. So in under an hour I designed the first draft of the pieces. It wasn't too challenging, most of the difficulties came from making sure everything was simple to print. My knight looked pretty bad, it resembled a chicken. I redesigned the knight and tweaked the queen, and overall it looks pretty good (at least, I think so). First design. Knight was a chicken, and the queen was too thin. The queen did print successfully, but it looked too thin and could give some people headaches. So I fixed them.
