Contact me for any prints of my designs!
I created this hinge to add versatility to any design, and I've also included a catch and examples of trinket boxes that use the hinge. You can use the hinge and catch separately, requiring only the precise positioning of the hinge and catch. Here's a guide: Design your trinket box in an open position so both halves match exactly, with a 5.7mm gap for the hinge. The shape is up to you, as long as you can attach the hinge to a 20mm straight edge. The hinge features square edges on either side. Align the top of the straight edges with the top of your box halves on the outside surface, as shown in the diagram where I've highlighted in yellow. The largest part of the catch needs to align with the top of your trinket box and integrate into the wall, as shown in the diagram where I've highlighted in green. If your trinket box has walls of varying thickness (not 1mm), ensure the outside edges line up. The smaller part of the catch must align with the top on the outside surface. Both hinges and catches print without supports. Once printed, the hinges should loosen easily.
