The Easy Fish project was developed as a six-week university assignment, with emphasis on real-life testing rather than theoretical modeling. To achieve this, a range of 3D models were designed and 3D printed for practical experimentation. Each component was refined until the optimal fishing rod holder for Trapper's canoes was created. The goal was to design an easy-to-use and adjustable device with minimal components to reduce complexity and manufacturing costs. A quick release system allows singlehanded adjustment, enabling the user to move the holder along the canoe rail and tilt it up to 45 degrees in any direction. Lightweight aluminum ensures durability and resistance to corrosion and water damage. The simplicity of design allows for dye casting or CNC machining, while a textured finish enables personalization. Cork pads protect the canoe from damage. Easy Fish is designed to hold rods suitable for lake and river fishing, but may not be ideal for sea casting due to potential risks in small vessels.
