Easy Cheese 3D Printer Parts
thingiverse
Props to the night crew at the Danbury Hackerspace for this creative but fun project. The package contains everything you need to mount a can of cheese to an Inventables X-Carve CNC: a servo mount, a can mounting clamp, a shim (for using frosting cans, which are slightly smaller), a fine tip nozzle for dispensing cheese, and an arm to attach to the servo. There are pre-drilled nut pockets in the servo block that allow you to assemble the clamp/block with just two screws. We connected the servo to an Arduino and used it to control the on/off dispensing arm. When a button was pressed or the switch was shorted, the arm would press the cheese nozzle and the gooey cheese would extrude. These layers are going to be massive - about .5 cm each. Figuring out how to modify your gcode to create your favorite cheesy shapes is a fun part of this project. Determining the right height above the platform is also crucial. This project was started last winter, so I'll dig through my notes and update the files accordingly.
