This is a tool designed to help you create your own custom replacement for the red button-top on a Staples easy button. It's fully customizable using Autodesk 123D Design or similar software, allowing you to make precise adjustments to the design. I've exported a .sat (STEP) file, but keep in mind that it doesn't include the text part - you'll need to generate your own text and extrude it to 25mm for compatibility. Important note: These instructions are specifically tailored for users of Autodesk 123D Design; if you're using a different software, be prepared to improvise or approximate the process. To customize your catchphrase, start by editing the text block in 123D Design. Select the text block and enter the word(s) you want to use - don't forget to choose a suitable font and adjust the height to ensure it fits within the 35mm radius circle underneath. Next, select Extrude Text and extrude your text to 25mm. This should automatically merge the letters with the base circle; if not, simply merge them manually using the menu bar or keyboard shortcuts. Move the cylinder labeled Ltr Cutout 100mm up and subtract it from the letters using the ] character. Then, move the cylinder marked Btn Cutout 100mm down and intersect it with the letters using the \ character. Select all your letters and move them 100mm left. If you're printing a single nozzle, merge all the letters with the blank button and export as .stl. However, if you're making a 2-color print, exporting the two parts separately is recommended - each letter will be a separate piece in this case, so make sure to graft them together using a small 0.1mm "thread" before exporting. Remember to ensure the thread doesn't appear above the button blank during export.
