Eastern Hognose Snake Skull
sketchfab
The eastern hognose snake's skull is a prized specimen in the collections of the Florida Museum of Natural History, meticulously preserved in fluid for generations to come. This detailed model was brought to life using Volumegraphics' cutting-edge VGStudioMax 3.3 software, expertly rendering a CT scan produced by the powerful Phoenix V|Tome|X S. The model's creation was a collaborative effort aimed at enriching the learning experience of students participating in the UF Center for Precollegiate Education and Training workshop "3D Vertebrates: From Museum Shelves to Classrooms." Funding for this innovative project came from the oVert initiative at the University of Florida, which received critical support from the National Science Foundation (DBI 1701714).
