easter egg painter helper
thingiverse
This was my initial attempt at designing in Blender, and while it could be improved quality-wise (due to a lost file), I still find the design simple and effective – especially since Easter is approaching. Originally intended as an eggbot clone, my children preferred the egg turning and drawing themselves; the metal parts allow for larger objects without extensive printing time. As a simple design, I hope it inspires someone to convert it into a printable eggbot. The Arduino code required is straightforward: download the AccelStepper library from http://www.airspayce.com/mikem/arduino/AccelStepper/, compile "ArduinoCode" on an Arduino, and use the affordable 28BYJ-48 stepper motor (http://www.vanallesenmeer.nl/5v-stappenmotor-met-ULN2003-driver). You can find the code and design at https://github.com/keesj/3d-makelib/tree/master/eibotje/v1, emphasizing its simplicity.
