Easter Egg

Easter Egg

This object resulted from a request by a skilled artisan who sought to craft the ultimate egg cup. The original concept envisioned designing an integrated piece that would keep a spoon and salt container close at hand, eliminating forgetfulness. To ensure the spoon and salt were never overlooked, I proposed fabricating them in 14-karat gold alongside the cup, rendering it impossible to misplace. A striking feature of this design lies in its bare edges, giving the object an ultra-slim, luxurious, and sophisticated appearance. Instructions This 3D model was created using Autodesk's user-friendly interface, as I aimed to produce a non-technical piece. To replicate the spiral pattern typically found in organic shapes like snails or nautilus shells, which are notoriously challenging to reproduce accurately within software constraints, I employed a technique that involves lofting rectangles with 30-degree angular spacing and then intersecting them with an egg shape. For an authentic egg appearance, I designed an ellipsoid form, combining a circle with an ellipse measuring approximately 4.5cm by 6cm. One fascinating phenomenon in the natural world is the elegant mathematical underpinning behind even the most mundane things, which highlights our profound dependence on science and technology to understand our surroundings accurately.
