Seed Plate for Earthway 1001B Seeder (Carrots) This custom seed plate is designed specifically for carrots, but can also be used for other small seeds. The seed plate features a 3-inch spacing, which allows for closer plantings than the standard plate that comes with the seeder. One notable difference between this plate and the original is its flat design. This simplicity makes it easier to manufacture and customize using basic tools like knives or files. For carrots, no adjustments are necessary. When stationary, the seeder may pick up multiple seeds, but when in motion, it tends to release one seed per push. However, this can be difficult to confirm while the seeder is in use. The design allows for easy attachment of the hub to the outer edge, making it a single print option. The press-fit mechanism works well, and there should be no stress on the plate that could cause it to slip. Printed in PLA, the plate shows no signs of strain or weakness.
