Earth's plates in motion - paleomagnetic data
sketchfab
This is a variant of the corrected Matthews et al. (2016) topological plate polygon and plate boundary dataset, with the absolute reference frame for the continents changed to be entirely paleomagnetic. The paleomagnetic atlas includes 93 paleomagnetic maps spanning the Phanerozoic Eon from 410 Ma to present-day, 0 Ma. Paleomagnetic reference frames used are Matthews et al., 2016 - DOI: 10.1016/j.gloplacha.2016.10.002; Domeier and Torsvik, 2014 - DOI: 10.1016/j.gsf.2014.01.002; Torsvik et al., 2012 - DOI: 10.1016/j.earscirev.2012.06.007. The dataset is hosted on the website http://geology.uaic.ro/muzee/mineralogie, and was conceptually developed and three-dimensionally modeled by dr. Andrei Ionut APOPEI.
