I created this model at Shapeways in size 12 for personal use, and it's also available for anyone to print themselves. To create a height map around a sphere, check out: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:363298 - it's a Processing program, not OpenSCAD. When combined with two other programs (including the ring sizer), these tools allow you to design and make any type of ring you can imagine, not just Earth-shaped ones.
