Earth Moon Model

I built the model to scale, except for the distance between the Moon and Earth. In reality, the distance from Earth to the Moon is twice its size, so I wouldn't have been able to make the rod long enough. If I had made the moon and Earth half as big, the moon would barely be recognizable. That's why I chose this solution. I designed the gear ratio so that when the moon rotates once, the Earth turns 29.5 times around its own axis. The gear mechanism was designed to rotate in the same direction as the Earth and Moon (just like in real life). When you shine a flashlight on the model, you can see the shadow formation of the Earth and Moon very clearly. It's best to attach the model to a wooden plate or something similar using 2 countersunk head screws (M5). To spin the model, simply rotate the earth adapter or gear-wheel about two-thirds of the way around. When assembling the model, it's crucial that you don't tighten the slotted screw too much.
