All files are stored in the same directory, ensuring no loss of textures. To open the scene, simply double-click on the .mb file or select "open/import" from the Maya window's file menu, avoiding dragging the .mb file directly to the Maya interface. The compressed pack is larger due to sizeable textures. Different base colors and sunlight angles represent Earth's surface in various months. White clouds remain consistent across all textures. Before diving into the project, read the attached Word document for instructions. Compatible software includes Maya 2015sp 6 with MentalRay for Maya 2015sp 6; higher versions are also acceptable. Rendering with Maya's built-in software render is possible but slower and of lower quality. UV mapping at the North and South poles has been optimized, eliminating texture distortion. Resolutions are as follows: Base Color (43200 * 21600), Bump (43200 * 21600), Specular (43200 * 21600), NightLight (43200 * 21600), and Clouds (43200 * 21600). Despite high resolutions, file opening and rendering remain smooth without crashes or quality loss. A partial rendering image is provided for observation. Material properties can be adjusted by one key with only one attribute bar visible. Examples of adjustable attributes include surface color, bump strength, and night light settings. Instructions on how to make these adjustments are in the Word file. To aid navigation, the viewport displaying the map has been turned off, but mainland contour curves have been drawn for location reference. This Earth model was created by the author during personal time and not for any company or person. It can be used for animation, movie, and game purposes. However, reselling, transferring, or gifting the model without permission is prohibited. Creating a high-resolution, multi-functional Earth model required overcoming numerous technical challenges to achieve smooth navigation and rendering.
