An earth drill's hydraulic motor powers its dull bits. A hydraulic cylinder lowers the drill at an appropriate speed for the material, while the drill's return stroke should be as rapid as possible. This requires a higher fluid flow than the pump can produce, which is achieved with an accumulator installation. Remember to follow the accumulator's operating instructions. After turning off the control circuit, do not dismantle hydraulic components until the accumulator pressure is released and it's isolated from the circuit using the built-in shut-off valve. To relieve pressure, open the valve slowly for a throttle effect.
