Another test in the series of "How-good-is-my-new-phone-for-photogrammetry?" is presented here:\nA medieval tombstone from Niederdollendorf, Germany, was photographed in June 2019 at a special exhibition in the LVR-LandesMuseum Bonn using a RugGear RG850 smartphone. The photographer used a guerilla scanning style, capturing 63 pictures in under seven minutes with ambient lighting alone. The base of the tombstone was mounted on a pedestal and therefore inaccessible.\nTo learn more about this specific tombstone, visit https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grabstele_von_Niederdollendorf#/ or http://www.suehnekreuz.de/nrw/niederdollendorf.htm (German language only).\nThe 3D model was not without its challenges - the dimensions of the limestone block may be slightly distorted. Feel free to compare this result with two other Niederdollendorf tombstone models on Sketchfab: https://skfb.ly/6KGS6 (incomplete cast, missing base) and https://skfb.ly/6LDzt (complete tombstone including base).
